RESEARCH INTERESTS

Lei Wang's research expertise is in the fields of pattern recognition and machine learning, with the application to computer vision, biomedical imaging, and bioinformatics. He has published extensively in these fields, with about 160 peer-reviewed research articles to date. Among the journals and conferences that he regularly publishes his research in, many of them are ERA A*/A (or tier Q1 or ranked top 10-20% in its disciplines) outlets, including the top-ranked conferences such as CVPR, ICCV, ECCV, NIPS, AAAI and MICCAI, and the prestigious journals such as IEEE Transactions on Pattern Analysis and Machine Intelligence (ranked among top 2 of the 121 journals in the categories of computer science and artificial intelligence according to Journal Citation Report), IEEE Transactions on Neural Networks and Learning Systems, IEEE Transactions on Knowledge and Data Engineering, IEEE Transactions on Biomedical Engineering, Journal of Machine Learning Research, Pattern Recognition, IEEE Transactions on Image Processing, and IEEE Journal of Biomedical and Health Informatics, to name a few.
According to Google Scholar, the total number of citations of his publications is close to 5000, the i-10 index is 78, and the h-index is 35 (checked on April 2020). The most cited publications in his track record are on pattern recognition and machine learning.
