BIO
I am a health social scientist and philosopher who is interested in the social and political dimensions of disease prevention. I conduct value-based social research to explore health policy problems and inform policy processes. Research interests include: human-animal health interactions; the politics and ethics of infectious disease control; and, the influence of technologies and systems on medical reasoning and public health decision making.
Empirically, my work explores the values and interests of those with a stake in these areas of science and practice. Methodologically, I have developed extensive expertise in deliberative methods, Delphi techniques, qualitative research and applied ethics.
