  • Ω Atomic and molecular-scale structure of materials studied using neutron and X-ray scattering

    My research focuses on understanding and developing rechargeable metal-ion battery technologies, including the atomic-scale characterisation of electrode materials, where he had made significant advances in understanding their structure- and chemistry-function relations using a variety of neutron and X-ray scattering methods. This research is centring around the uses of large-scale facilities (neutron and synchrotron methods) in combination with electrochemistry and materials expertise, enabling the establishment of an extensive network of research collaborations locally and internationally. My research work pioneered the applications of in-operando neutron and synchrotron diffraction in mechanistic studies, probing the changes in real time, which underpins the properties and performance, of energy materials for metal-ion batteries.
