BIO
Tim Cohen is an Associate Professor in the School of Science at the University of Wollongong. He is Director and Climate theme leader of the ARC Centre of Excellence for Australian Biodiversity and Heritage (CABAH) and Deputy Director of Environmental Futures and was an Australian Research Council [ARC] appointed Future Fellow (2018 – 2022) working on landscape responses to climate extremes. He is a geomorphologist and Quaternary scientist and his current work includes the investigation of extreme pluvials [wet extremes]. Whilst many in his field either stick to the past or to the present A/Prof Cohen’s research attempts to straddle the two and integrates the results into the management of the Australian landscape. He has had extensive experience in both the research and applied aspects of his work working for local and state governments, resource management agencies and as an independent consultant and as an expert witness.
