Tiffani’s research explores the digital practice of children and young people across everyday life and education contexts.  Tiffani’s work critically engages with popular digital discourses associated with children and young people, paying attention to the ways that children, parents and teachers engage with digital systems, platforms and tools. Examples of her recent work include examinations of school social media practice, the integration of Ed Tech in schools and children’s gaming behaviours.

Tiffani has attracted >$1.3 million in competitive funding. She is an ARC DECRA Fellow leading a project exploring Australian families' social media experiences. Tiffani is a Chief Investigator ARC Centre of Excellence for the Digital Child leading a research team of 8 academics examining the connected nature of digital childhoods. She has also been an Associate Investigator on the ARC Centre of Excellence for Australian Biodiversity and Heritage (CABAH) investigating the intersect of digital design and Country-centred pedagogies. Tiffani is an ECR with an outstanding track record and high-quality academic output with impact. For example, 92% of Tiffani’s publications are published in the top Education journals (Q1 Scopus) and over two thirds of her publications are listed in the top 25% of journal citation percentiles (greater than double the Australian average rate of 30.7% SciVal 2018-2024). Tiffani’s expertise is widely recognised and sought. She has over 29 inter/national collaborators and contributes expertise in invited talks, panels, working groups and partnerships to better support children and young people’s digital practices and rights (e.g., OAIC, UNESCO, State University of Jakarta, NSW Parliament, ACARA, NSW Department of Education).
