Dr Tianbing Xia received his PhD in Computer Science at the University of Wollongong in 2001. Dr Xia has extensive experience in tertiary teaching, research and the IT industry. Before pursuing PhD in Australia, he worked in the IT department at China Construction Bank HUBEI province. He took part in the development of many software networking systems used by millions of users and one of them has received the national-level Technology and Advanced Development Grand Prize.
During 20 years working at UOW, Dr Xia taught a large range of undergraduate and postgraduate subjects. His current research interests include database management and optimization,  combinatorial code design and fundamentals of computer security, data privacy and data science.
