BIO

Dr Theresa Larkin has a BSc (Hons) in Chemistry, a PhD in Biomedical Science, and a Master of Higher Education (with Distinction). She has received a national teaching citation award for her innovative teaching practices in anatomy. With much teaching experience across numerous medical and health science subjects, Theresa currently teaches anatomy and physiology to graduate-entry MD medical students. She is active in the scholarship of learning and teaching, and passionate about equity, diversity and inclusion.
Theresa's research spans multiple projects across Clinical Anatomy and Hormones and Health. She investigates the role of various hormones as biomarkers for depressive symptoms and subtypes, and associations between cortisol and stress during pregnancy and in athletes. She has a clinical research collaboration with a vascular surgeon to examine the role of pelvic vein obstruction in chronic pelvic pain.
