BIO

I have worked for POSCO, South Korea, from 1996 to 2013 in various roles including metallurgical and plant engineer in thin slab casting plants, project leader for several 6-Sigma projects, and manager of metallurgical team in a R&D project. I completed my PhD in 2015 at the University of Wollongong, studying peritectic phase transition in steel during solidification, aimed to enhance the understanding of industrial observations related to the peritectic transition in steel.
Currently, as a senior researcher I work in various projects in collaboration with industries and other institutions. My research interests include casting and hot-rolling technologies, peritectic phase transition in materials of industrial importance, in-situ observations of high temperature phenomena and thermal analysis, and development of novel experimental techniques.
