BIO
Dr Lovell is a Professor in Sport & Exercise Science at the University of Wollongong. Ric has co-authored over 90 peer-reviewed journal articles and book-chapters in sports physiology and performance science, primarily in team sports. His predominant research focus investigates optimal preparation, performance and athletic development strategies for team-sports players, including injury prevention, talent identification and monitoring training and match loads. During this career, Ric has consulted for a number of Elite teams and governing associations at professional, regional, state, confederation and international level. This work has focussed on translating research evidence into industry practice, educating key stakeholders and contributing to policy development in the context of player welfare.
