Prof. Guo’s research focuses on statistical signal processing, Bayesian inference, graphical models and message passing, and machine learning for sensing and communication systems. 

Prof. Guo’s is listed among Stanford/Elsevier's World top 2% of scientists and recognised by Research.com among the Best Scientists in Electronics and Electrical Engineering and Best Scientists in Computer Science. He was a recipient of the Australian Research Council��s inaugural DECRA fellowship. Prof. Guo currently serves as an Associate Editor for IEEE Transactions on Signal Processing and IEEE Transactions on Aerospace and Electronic Systems. He has previously served on the editorial boards of international journals across major publishers, including IEEE, IET, Springer, and Frontiers. In addition, he has held key roles in major international conferences, including Technical Program Committee Vice Chair, Regional Chair, Track Chair, and TPC Member.

Prof. Guo has delivered subjects spanning 200 level to 900 level at the University of Wollongong.
