Paul Gardiner is a Senior Lecturer in Creativity and the Arts at the University of Wollongong. Paul's research interests include Creativity, Arts education and the affordances of interdisciplinary thinking. His research has appeared in high ranking international journals including Teaching and Teacher education, Thinking Skills and Creativity, and the Cambridge Journal of Education. His research focuses on creative practice across school and tertiary settings, privileging student voice. His solo authored book, Teaching playwriting: Creativity in practice, was published by Methuen Drama UK in 2019. He was the Director of Research for Drama Australia (2015-16) and served as a committee member of Drama NSW from 2018-2022. Paul is an experienced Secondary Drama and English teacher. He has been Chief examiner for HSC Drama, and a Senior Marker for the Scriptwriting component of the NSW HSC Drama examination.
