BIO
Dr Nicola J Marks is Senior Lecturer in Sociology and Science and Technology Studies (STS). She received degrees in natural and social sciences from the universities of Cambridge and Edinburgh. Her research examines science, technology and medicine in society. She has researched stem cell research, euthanasia, responsible innovation, public engagement in science, and assisted reproduction. She has published in Sociological Review, New Genetics and Society, and Science and Public Policy.
She was Chief Investigator on an ARC-funded Discovery Project with Professor Sarah Ferber and Senior Professor Vera Mackie, from which was published their co-authored monograph "IVF and Assisted Reproduction, A Global History".
Dr Marks works part-time and enjoys caring for her young family.
