BIO
Dr Nicholas Geraghty is passionate about science communication and teaching science. He is currently a lecturer with the Graduate School of Medicine, teaching fundamental science including cell biology, genetics, immunology, biochemistry and molecular biology utilising his research experience to teach future medical doctors.
He has previously researched the role of proteostasis (balance of protein production, function, and degradation) in neurodegenerative disease, focussing on motor neurone disease (MND). He is an expert in cell culture and flow cytometry and had combined this experience to undertake high-throughput flow cytometry screening of compounds to identify novel therapies for MND at Molecular Horizons and the School of Science.
