BIO

Dr Massimo Fiorentini is Scientist at Empa - Swiss Federal Laboratories for Materials Science and Technology and an Honorary Senior Lecturer at the Sustainable Buildings Research Centre (SBRC) at University of Wollongong. He holds a Bachelors and Masters Degree from Politecnico di Milano in Mechanical Engineering. He then obtained his PhD from University of Wollongong, collaborating with research scientists from the CSIRO Energy Centre. Massimo started his career at ABB as a Product Manager, continuing as a Researcher after completing his PhD. His research focuses on the development of advanced control and optimization strategies for building energy management. He was a member of the Standards Australia EL-054 committee (Demand Response) and of International Energy Agency EBC Annexes.
