BIO
Professor Marijka Batterham is Director of the Statistical Consulting Centre which provides data science and statistical advice to staff and postgraduate students. Marijka is Coordinator of the UOW Data and Decision Science Initiative (DDSI), which is part of the UOW strategic plan. The DDSI aims to promote UOWs capacity in data science externally and to enhance Data Science and data literacy skills internally. Marijka holds dual professional qualifications from Statistical Society of Australia as an Accredited Statistician and Dietitians Australia as an Advanced Accredited Practising Dietitian. Marijka's research interests focus on the design and analysis on lifestyle and health related interventions, in particular dietary and surgical weight loss trials. Marijka is currently focussing on applications of machine learning methods and predicting attrition in these areas.
