BIO

I am a researcher whose focus is on the pathobiology of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). I have a strong background in applying the concept of protein homeostasis (proteostasis) to the study of both cause and cure for ALS. In my short career, I have been awarded competitive funding in the form of both fellowships (Bill Gole Fellowship from MND Australia, the most prestigious and competitive ALS research fellowship in Australia) and project funding. My projects have involved the study of several pathological mechanisms in ALS, including protein phase separation, protein aggregation, molecular chaperones, and the ubiquitin proteasome system. A key focus of  my work  has been the development of scalable and easy to implement methods to assess and screen chemical or biological modifiers of protein aggregation in living cells.
