BIO

Originally from France, I am a marine social scientist with over 15 years experience working with remote communities in Australia and the Pacific region to develop and appraise the suitability of natural resource management tools, particularly for small-scale fisheries. I am an engaged scholar who applies an interdisciplinary and collaborative approach to the broad themes of environmental sustainability, food security and livelihood outcomes in Pacific Island Countries and Territories.

I joined ANCORS, UoW, in March 2014 as a Research Fellow in the Fisheries Governance Programme. I have been working on small-scale fisheries management in the Pacific Region, especially through the implementation of the Community-based Fisheries Management program in partnership with the Kiribati Ministry of Fisheries and Marine Resources Development, recently named Ministry of Fisheries and Ocean Resources (MFOR).
I am currently Kiribati country leader, gender and capacity development theme leader for DFAT/ACIAR 'Coalitions for change in sustainable national CBFM programs in the Pacific'. I also support the Kiribati work of the ACIAR 'Extending integrated analysis for improved food system outcomes in Timor-Leste and the Pacific region' with the Kiribati Ministry of Environment, Lands and Agriculture Development (MELAD).

On top of my research committments, I teach short courses on fisheries management through the subject offerings of ANCORS Graduate Diploma and Master of Fisheries Policy. I am the subject coordinator of SEA 919 Social dimensions of fisheries management and policy and SEA 921 Governance of coastal fisheries. Since 2024, I also teach in the Graduate Certificate in Fisheries Management and Development, a course co-designed and co-delivered with the Solomon Islands National University.
