Khoa Nguyen is an Associate Professor at the University of Wollongong (UOW), Australia. He received his PhD in Cryptography from Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore, in 2014. Prior to joining UOW as a Senior Lecturer in August 2021, he was a Presidential Postdoctoral Fellow and subsequently a Senior Research Fellow at NTU. His work focuses on the design and analysis of privacy-preserving and quantum-safe cryptographic protocols. He has co-authored or edited three books and published around 55 research papers, primarily in leading cryptography and security venues such as EUROCRYPT, CRYPTO, ASIACRYPT, PKC, the Journal of Cryptology, and IEEE Transactions.

A/Prof Nguyen is a Chief Investigator of the ARC Centre of Excellence in Mathematics for Quantum Era Security and Trust ($35M), led by Professor Nalini Joshi at the University of Sydney, and serves as Chair of the Centre’s Research Support Committee. He has served on the Program and Organising Committees of more than 50 international conferences. Notably, he was Program Co-Chair of ProvSec 2020 and ACISP 2022, Area Chair of ASIACRYPT 2023, and Workshop Chair of AsiaCCS 2025. He has also been a member of the ASIACRYPT Steering Committee since 2023.
