My service in education and management  expands  a 30+ year career. This extends across research leadership where it has directly contributed to securing over $1m in grants and commercial research. I have secured research funding from DCEEW through the National Environmental Science Program (NESP). After the first report on this project, and its early success, I was recently awarded additional funds and additional members to the research team.  In addition I have received two grants from corporate Organisations to Share Whale Stories and Song lines. I am also a Co-Investigator on an NCG-Cat.1 grant funded ARC Linkage project for the Blue Energy Futures Lab (BE-FL). 

I am consistently approached to embark on contracted research or provide professional advice and expertise by academic researchers, government and non-government institutions, business leaders and community stakeholders in a range of international and cross-cultural contexts. These include ongoing research with and on behalf of the NESP, DPI Fisheries, DCEEW, and international partners. I have provided research and policy advice to Governments on behalf of Southern Australian Aboriginal Land and Sea Management Alliance SAALSMA, and I have regular engagement with NSW DPI Fisheries, Marine Estate Management Authority (MEMA). I am an independent Cultural expert on the Marine Cetacean Biological Important Areas Committee providing advice for policy development linked to the EPBC Act. I have membership on Local Governments (Wollongong and Shellharbour) Marine Estuaries and Coastal Management Committees, providing a scientific and Cultural lens to their existing management plans. My standing within the Aboriginal community has been highlighted with winning the Regional Aboriginal NAIDOC Award, Illawarra Aboriginal Women of the year, Shellharbour Women of the year and Finalist in NSW Aboriginal Women of the year.
