Academic Lead - Inclusive Education
BIO
Iresha Donmanige is a management scholar and educator who studies how organisations decide who is capable, and what happens to people's careers when technology changes the basis of that judgement. Her current work sits at the intersection of career progression and the future of work: how AI-facilitated work reshapes progression, who is recognised as future-capable when the criteria are in flux and how senior leaders construct the "AI-ready worker".
This extends her doctoral research on career progression in Australian STEM academia, in which she explored the lived experiences of women academics in STEM and the role of decision-makers, such as Deans and Heads of School, across Australian STEM faculties.
At UOW, she currently holds the role of Academic Lead, Inclusive Education, and is a Casual Lecturer and Visiting Fellow in the School of Business. Some of the selected highlights of her career are;
- ANZAM 2025 Excellence Award for Best Doctoral Dissertation — conferred on a single management thesis across Australia and New Zealand each year.
- Outstanding Reviewer Award, Careers Division, Academy of Management Annual Meeting 2025.
