BIO
I am a Senior Lecturer and researcher specialising in cybersecurity for autonomous and robotic systems. My research sits at the intersection of autonomous and robotic systems, intelligent systems and artificial intelligence, and cyber-physical systems.
My research brings these disciplines together to address a fundamental challenge: how can autonomous systems be made secure, trustworthy and resilient when operating in complex, uncertain and adversarial environments? By integrating AI, machine learning, control and cybersecurity, I develop approaches that enable autonomous systems to detect, withstand and respond to faults, attacks and unexpected conditions while maintaining safe and reliable operation.
A defining aspect of my research is a system-level approach to cybersecurity, extending beyond individual algorithms to consider the security and resilience of the complete autonomous system—from sensing and communication through computation and decision-making to control and physical actuation. The ultimate goal is to move from intelligent algorithms towards trusted and resilient autonomous systems that can be validated and deployed in real-world environments.
My research spans UAVs, aerial robotics, autonomous systems and cyber-physical systems, with applications in defence, critical technologies and other mission-critical domains. Through multidisciplinary collaboration with academia, government and industry, my work seeks to advance the foundations of secure, trusted and resilient autonomy.
