Research Overview


  • I am a research fellow in the Australian Institute for Innovative Materials (AIIM) at the University of Wollongong (UOW). I am currently a group leader and a lab supervisor of STM Lab at the University of Wollongong, and manage high magnetic field STM and four-probe STM systems. In my role, I am fully responsible for research, research collaboration, facility management and supervision of PhD students.

    My research work is in the field of two-dimensional (2D) materials and surface physics and chemistry. My group is one of only six labs worldwide that can produce large-scale high-quality silicene, a single- atom-thick silicon nanosheet. My expertise covers molecular beam epitaxial deposition, scanning tunneling microscopy, atomic force microscopy, tip-enhanced Raman spectroscopy.
