Weihua Li, PhD, is a Senior Professor & Director at the University of Wollongong. He completed his BEng (1992), MEng (1995) at University of Science and Technology of China, and PhD (2001) at Nanyang Technological University (NTU). He was with the School of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering of NTU as a Research Associate/Fellow from 2001 to 2003, before he joined the School of Mechanical, Materials, Mechatronic and Biomedical Engineering as a Lecturer. His research focuses on Smart Materials and Intelligent Systems, Dynamics and Vibration Control, Microfluidics, Lab on a Chip, hybrid composites and wearable devices. He serves as Specialty Chief Editor for Frontiers in Materials and Associate Editor or Editorial Board Member for other ten international journals, including Smart Materials and Structures, Lab on a Chip, IEEE/ASME Transactions on Mechatronics, etc. As the General Chair, he organised two international conferences. He has published more than 350 journal papers with an h-index of 76 (Google Scholar). He is a recipient of Fellow of the Engineers Australia, the Fellow of Institute of Physics (UK), Australian Endeavour Research Fellowship, JSPS Invitation Fellowship, Vice-Chancellor's Award for Excellence in Research Supervision, Vice-chancellor's Award for Interdisciplinary Research Excellence, and numerous Best Paper Awards.
