Overview


Dr Westley-Wise is a Clinical Epidemiologist and Staff Specialist Public Health Physician with the Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District and the Centre for Health Research Illawarra Shoalhaven Population (CHRISP), Australian Health Services Research Institute, University of Wollongong. She has a strong background in population health and health services research and epidemiological investigation, to inform service and program planning and evaluation at a regional level. 

Research Overview


  • Dr Westley-Wise has a strong background in population health and health services research and epidemiological investigation, to inform service and program planning and evaluation at regional and state levels. She has expertise in design and implementation of research and evaluations using regional administrative data and infrastructure, including longitudinal and linked datasets. Her research has been in a diverse range of areas including: infectious diseases, chronic disease (cardiovascular disease, cancer, respiratory disease), Aboriginal Health, injury prevention, maternal and child health. Some of her current research projects are in the areas of readmissions and multimorbidity, end of life care and mental health.

  • Dr Westley-Wise has extensive experience teaching epidemiology, health services planning and evaluation and public health approaches to under- and post-graduate students and health professionals in a range of disciplines, including Medicine, Public/ Population Health and Environmental Health. This has included lecturing, tutoring, mentoring and formal supervision.
