Dr Venkat Yanamandram has subject coordinated at MBA and EMBA as well as at first and second year undergraduate levels across Wollongong and Sydney. Specifically, Venkat has taught Marketing Principles, Marketing for Strategic Decisions, Business Research Project (MBA), Services Marketing and Strategic Brand Management, with some subjects delivered at Singapore. For his contribution to teaching and learning, Venkat has received University and Faculty level awards.
Venkat is the Director, Assurance of Learning, responsible for executing the Faculty's plan for systematically collecting data on course learning outcomes, reviewing and using the data to continuously develop and improve the Faculty's academic programs. Venkat works with Associate Dean (Education) and Associate Dean (International and Accreditation) to develop, maintain and implement a strategy and action plan for effective assurance of student learning. Before taking up the role of Director, Assurance of Learning, Venkat worked with the Associate Dean (Education) in reviewing Faculty's academic programs.
Venkat has joint publications in Journal of University Teaching & Learning Practice, Annals of Tourism Research, Journal of Business Research, Australasian Marketing Journal, Journal of Service Management, and Managing Service Quality: An International Journal (now called Journal of Service Theory and Practice), Journal of Retailing and Consumer Services, International Journal of Bank Marketing amongst others. Venkat has also presented at and published articles in the proceedings of various national and international conferences.
Venkat successfully supervised two doctoral candidates to completion, and is currently supervising four doctoral candidates.
Prior to joining academia, he worked as a market researcher in Australia, and held key-account sales positions in the information technology industry in India.
