Overview


Tieling received a PhD degree in engineering. He has very strong research expertise in data processing and modelling, system reliability engineering, condition based maintenance and operation of wind turbines, complex system simulation and optimisation. He has published over 100 research articles in the related fields and completed more than 15 major research projects funded by government and industry agencies. He is an invited referee serving for over 40 international journals and, reviewer/technical committee member for many international conferences. He holds 6 patents (USA, EU, China). He is a recipient of three best paper awards from three international conferences. As team leader and/or project leader, his team has gained research fund which is over 6.5 million Australian Dollars. He has been teaching at both undergraduate and postgraduate level in mechanical engineering covering the programs of master of engineering asset management and master of engineering management. He serves as leader of Engineering Asset Management and Systems Engineering Research Group at Faculty of Engineering and Information Sciences, the University of Wollongong. He is on editorial board of International Journal of Systems Engineering.
