I have worked for POSCO, South Korea between 1996 and 2013 in a variety of capacities: metallurgical engineer and senior plant engineer in a thin slab casting plant, project leader of various Six-Sigma projects, manager of metallurgical team in a R&D engineering project. I have completed my PhD study in 2015 on ‘Peritectic phase transition in steel during solidification’ at the University of Wollongong. This study is to enhance understanding of industrial observations with regard to the peritectic transition in steel.
Now I am a research fellow working for various research projects in collaboration with steel industries. My research interests are casting and hot-rolling technologies, peritectic phase transition in materials of industrial importance, in-situ observations of high temperature phenomena and thermal analysis, and development of novel experimental facilities and techniques.
