Overview


Steinar Ellingsen is a senior lecturer in Journalism, and Communication and Media, currently working on an international ARC-funded long-term study on the value of web series to the greater screen ecology. He is a co-founder and former Director of Melbourne WebFest (MWF), Australia’s international web series festival. At the time it was announced in 2012, MWF was the fourth festival of its kind in the world. Steinar is the creator of the award-winning documentary web series The Inland Sea: An Australian Odyssey (2011-12), which was part of his practice-led PhD. Steinar's research continues to focus on areas of digital screen production, as well as journalism.

Before relocating to Australia, Steinar was a journalist, photographer and editor in Norway.
