Overview


Steinar Ellingsen is a senior lecturer in Journalism, and Communication and Media. He is a co-founder and former Director of Melbourne WebFest (MWF), Australia’s international web series festival. At the time it was announced in 2012, MWF was the fourth festival of its kind in the world. Steinar is the creator of the award-winning documentary web series The Inland Sea: An Australian Odyssey (2011-12), which was part of his practice-led PhD. Steinar's research continues to focus on areas of digital screen production. He is currently developing a long-term study on the value of web series to the screen ecology.

Before relocating to Australia, Steinar was a journalist, photographer and editor in Norway.
