Nazrul Islam, Sheik Md Kazi Dr.

Overview


Dr Sheik Md Kazi Nazrul Islam is an Associate fellow in Institute for Superconducting and Electronic Materials at University of Wollongong (UOW). Nazrul holds degrees in Materials Engineering and in Applied Physics, Electronics and Communication Engineering and has been awarded Endeavor Postdoctoral Research Leadership Award.

He has substantial teaching experience, both overseas and in Australia since 2010. He is an honorary visiting fellow at the University of Technology Sydney (UTS). He has also been a principal investigator and team member on several successful applications for instrument beam time at the Australian Synchrotron.

His research area is in Thermoelectrics (TE). His speciality is measuring the thermal and electrical properties of materials with the improvement of TE materials performance using low-cost fabrication method. He has been working on bulk porous and thin film materials and analyse results with the Synchrotron, Neutron scattering techniques and atomic-scale structure. He is a Member of IEEE, IEEE Power and Energy Society, International Association of Advanced Materials (IAAM), The Australian Neutron Beam User Group (ANBUG) and The Australian Nanotechnology Network (ANN).
