Dr Sharna Wiblen is a Lecturer in Management at the Sydney Business School, UOW working at the intersection of Talent Management, Information Technologies and HR Analytics. Her research critically analyses how the concept of 'talent' is defined in organisations, as well as the structure and desired outcomes of talent management policies and practices, including talent acquisition, talent identification and talent development. Her research also examines the role that information technologies (such as Enterprise Resource Planning Systems, Human Resource Information Systems, Social Media etc) play, or do not play, in talent management practices. Sharna aims to conduct this research at the highest level, producing quality research outputs that contribute to academic debates whilst having real world application. She is building a profile as a talent management, human resource management and electronic human resource management (e-HRM) scholar via numerous peer-reviewed publications and conference papers. Prior to joining the team at UOW, Sharna played a pivotal role in two consecutive ARC funded projects with colleagues at The University of Sydney Business School.

Sharna is passionate about teaching and the processes of learning and treasures the opportunity to positively influence the experiences of all her students. She has extensive experience in teaching at undergraduate, postgraduate and honors levels, including the design, development, and coordination of various courses. In addition to receiving above average student feedback, she has been the recipient of 14 teaching and learning awards.
Sharna's passion for knowledge and critical thinking is combined with over 15 years of industry experience having worked as a management consultant, human resource and recruitment coordinator and retail service manager.
