Dr Shahla Meedya leads research projects in primary care nursing, emphasising on women’s and children’s health, healthy lifestyle, person-centred care, and chronic diseases. She is the chief leader from SMAH who developed the Milky Way breastfeeding application in collaboration with A/Professor Khin Win (the chief leader from EIS). The Milky Way app will be used as one of the breastfeeding educational resources in ISLHD. Shahla also undertakes research around learning and teaching in nursing focusing on technology based learning and teaching methods. The Milky Way app has been introduced as a learning resource for third year nursing students. Dr Meedya has particular interests in quantitative studies, mixed method researches and evidence based practice.
