Saving energy and using energy eco-friendly has been an important focus for researchers nowadays. Controlling the direction of wind turbines is one of the best approaches to maximize the output and it has become a very investing field to research as wind energy is a promising alternative energy resource. This paper developed a system that is capable to detect the wind direction and make an adjustment of the horizontal axis wind turbine. The developed system takes very little response time to adjust its position towards wind flowing. Experiments have been conducted in two segments. The first one is for one direction wind source and the other is for clockwise and anti-clockwise wind source direction. In the first segment, wind striking turbine with an angle of 0°, 15°, 30 °, 45°, 60° 75° with a velocity of 3.8 m/s and data of r.p.m., extracted power of the turbine, angle adjustment and power increment have been analyzed. In the second segment, the external wind source is to be set in two directions to confirm the system is in working for two directions properly with increasing r.p.m. and electrical power output that has been shown in this paper. The experimental data indicates that's the developed system maximizes the extraction capacity of wind energy for a conventional horizontal axis wind turbine.
