Abstract


  • This report provides a brief, user-friendly guide to the assessment of HVAC technologies for decision makers in the schools sector, with an emphasis upon technologies that increase the value of renewable energy generation. Many of the key performance indicators identified in the i-Hub Renewable Energy and Enabling Technology Service Evaluation Framework (REETSEF)1 are designed to support the assessment of technology improvements at the network and societal level, with consideration of benefits to the individual school limited to reduced energy consumption and utility costs. The current report is designed to provide an easy to use guide for sector stakeholders to implement a Whole of Life design and assessment approach to compare costs and benefits of alternative HVAC technologies. This guide should be read in conjunction with the relevant state education department design guidelines for the provision of HVAC services.
