Feeding coal to and from belt conveyors

Conference Paper

Abstract

  • The paper concentrates on some of the critical aspects involved in the design layout of conveyor transfer stations. Consideration is given to the affect of material properties on the discharge trajectory of the bulk solid as well as some more unusual ways of configuring a transfer point for both high and low speed conveyors. The concept of using small surge bins as transfer chutes is introduced as well as some of the results from research currently being done in this area.
