On the effective sizing and placement of air blasters

Abstract


  • This paper describes a design procedure which has been developed from an approximate mathematical description of the operation of air blasters. The model was checked using experimental data obtained from a test rig using copper concentrate and coal. A comparison of the sizing and placement strategy derived from the design procedure with that derived from commercial suppliers of air blasters indicates that the commercial strategies can be somewhat conservative.
