SIMPLIFIED APPROACH FOR THE EVALUATION OF FEEDER LOADS FOR MASS-FLOW BINS.

Abstract


  • The paper presents theoretical expressions to predict both initial and flow loads acting on a feeder operating under a mass flow hopper. The theory does not attempt to consider impact loads or transient loads which may occur during filling of bins. These loads are usually avoided or minimized by incomplete emptying of the bin.
