PNEUMATIC TRANSPORTATION AND FLUIDISATION PERFORMANCE OF POWER STATION FLY ASH.

Abstract


  • The product conveying characteristics and the fluidisation behaviour of five fly ash samples are investigated. Although all samples conveyed equally well in the dilute phase regime, slightly higher pressure drops and flow irregularities were obtained when the cohesive Group C powders were tested in the dense phase mode. Aspects of reliable blow tank design are also discussed with a view to avoiding problems such as non-uniform fluidisation and unstable transport of cohesive materials.
