BULK SOLID STORAGE AND FLOW CONSIDERATIONS FOR COAL PREPARATION PLANT.

Abstract


  • Modern coal preparation plant operation requires reliable and uniform flow of bulk solids without the use of expensive and energy consuming flow promotion devices. A brief outline of the necessary design procedure and flow property test procedures will highlight that in the design of coal preparation plants considerable attention to the flow of bulk solids is necessary due to the adverse flow properties of the bulk solids handled. It will be emphasised that, due to the heterogeneous nature of coal, material flow problems should be examined for each individual situation.
