SIMPLIFIED MASS-FLOW BIN WALL LOAD PREDICTIONS.

Abstract


  • The evaluation of the wall loads under flow conditions in mass-flow bins is a complicated procedure requiring access to extensive computing facilities. The evaluation of the flow wall loads is necessary for the design of bins for structural integrity. The complexity of the existing evaluation procedures has been reduced somewhat by the presentation of bin design information in chart form. The main reason for the analysis presented in this paper was to develop a suitable procedure for a Code of Practice for bin design in Australia.
