AUSTRALIA'S LARGE-SCALE PNEUMATIC CONVEYING TEST FACILITY.

Journal Article

Abstract

  • The current state-of-the-art in pneumatic conveying determines that detailed evaluation of the conveying characteristics of a bulk solid in an adequately sized test rig is necessary to predict with any accuracy, the performance of a pneumatic transport system. This is particularly important when long distance conveying is being considered or for systems handling difficult-to-convey materials. This paper gives details of the large-scale pneumatic conveying testing facility at the University of Wollongong and provides some typical examples of the successful application of the test rig results to full-scale systems.
