Predicting the flowrate of bulk solids from mass flow bins

Abstract


  • This paper reviews briefly the research on the flow of bulk solids from mass flow bins at the university of Wollongong. Some recent developments discussed include the prediction of the flowrate of fine, coarse and size- distributed bulk solids from mass flow bins, the reassessment of the effect of material surcharge level on the particle flowrate and some pilot investigations on the use of standpipes installed under the hopper for increasing the limiting flowrate.
