STANDARDISED-TEST PROCEDURE FOR PNEUMATIC CONVEYING DESIGN.

Abstract


  • Pilot-plant testing and product conveying characteristics constitute an essential requirement for the reliable design of pneumatic transportation systems. This paper demonstrates a standardized-test procedure that has been developed over recent years for this purpose. Two materials (fly ash, PVC powder) are considered for this presentation, and particular aspects include: (a) examples of the three pilot-plant experiments developed for efficient data collection, (b) product conveying characteristics highlighting regions of unstable transport, and (c) transient plots of major conveying parameters.
