Feasibility and efficiency of dense phase pneumatic transportation.

Abstract


  • A technique for determining a material's suitability to be conveyed in the dense phase mode by using pneumatic conveying characteristics and theoretical slugging criteria is demonstrated. A more practical definition of dense phase is proposed in the light of experimental results. Various types of conveying modes and blow tank configurations are also investigated for the purpose of obtaining more efficient transportation, in relation to air usage, flow stability and general plant erosion.
