Strip rolling simulation by the dynamic explicit FEM

Abstract


  • The method of strip rolling simulation by dynamic explicit finite element is described theoretically. With the calculation on the rolling condition provided by the references, it is proved to be valid that improving the calculation efficiency by the technique such as improving the rolling speed and mass scaling. The results are in good agreement with the experiments. And the effect of the strip mesh density on the simulation results is also studied in this paper.
