Effect of FEM mesh type calculated results on temperature field of round bar

Abstract


  • The temperature field of round bar during waiting for rolling was calculated by using three FEM (finite element method) mesh types. It is found that uniform mesh will lead to better results. On the contrary, if there is an obviously great difference in size of adjacent elements, the temperature disturbance would occur around these elements.
