Dynamic simulation of the supervisory control of variable speed pitch regulated wind turbines

Abstract


  • The supervisory control strategy and operational state of the variable speed pitch regulated wind turbines were studied in the paper. Through analyzing the operating characteristics of wind turbines, supervisory control models and a full system dynamics model, including the rotor, power train system and electrical control of the generator, were presented. And the corresponding simulation software was developed. Using the developed software, the dynamic simulation of supervisory control and operational state of a 600kW wind turbine was carried out. The simulation results are in good agreement with the results obtained by the commercial software GH Bladed .
