A horizontal axis wind turbine aerodynamic performance prediction model based on strip theory was presented for supporting the design and validation of wind turbines. To account for tip loss, hub loss, cascade effects and the invalidation of momentum theory during the operation of the wind turbine operating in stall state, the strip theory was amended. The wind shear, yawing, structural parameters and installation parameters are taken into account to make the theoretic model more close to the wind turbine in operation. The aerodynamic performance of a 1.3 MW stall-regulated wind turbine was calculated using the developed program. The calculation results are in good agreement with that obtained by commercial software Bladed for windows.
