Effects of monetary and fiscal policy on inflation. Some evidence from the J-test

Journal Article

Abstract

  • The paper applies the J-test to a simple IS-LM based economic model fitted to an aggregate cross-country and time-series dataset from 16 OECD countries for the period 1968 to 1985 to test for significant discriminant causes of inflation. The findings support a mix of fiscal and monetary policy for effective macroeconomic analysis. © 1986.
