Abstract


  • Flow properties of a bulk solid provide vital data for the design of storage bins and other handling equipment. The determination of a range of flow properties for a bulk solid can be an expensive exercise. The range of flow properties to be determined should depend, in part, on the type of bulk solid being considered. Maybe a limited range is all that is required. This paper considers the usefulness of the traditional flow properties in the determination of mass-flow hopper geometries.
