WIND-LOAD CORRELATION AND ESTIMATES OF THE CAPACITY CREDIT OF WIND POWER: AN EMPIRICAL INVESTIGATION.

Journal Article

Abstract

  • Calculations made with several yers of data from Western Australia indicate that empirical estimates of capacity credit may vary greatly with small changes in the joint distribution of wind and load. It is shown that capacity credit estimates are sensitive to the availability of wind power at a few peridos of high load, and a simple summary measure is described which gives an indication of the strength of wind-load association in relation to capacity credit.
